CLUSTER
David Tomaloff
i.
the elephant, the lion,
&the scarecrow—

how we traded our hearts
for the flesh-colored soil

ii.
upon our shoulders,
the trembling hands of the forest

,  &how all we could muster was
everything &tomorrow

iii.
how we folded ourselves
into clusters

of average little bombs

Matterhorn
Keith Higginbotham

Heart, heart:
cataracts are not my scene.

The mirror
ricochets headphone
cymbals, keys.

Puzzle paper beats
its rope.

No is the stuff of aureoles:
a sterilized place already

zeroed
into pyramid sleep.

THEME FROM NEXT DATE by Keith Higginbotham

The 26th offering from Ten Pages Press is now available: Theme From Next Date by Keith Higginbotham.

Jigsaw

figurative stitched-on
characters of the
picture plane, moving
the story
recurring a device, a passage
of caustic confessionals.

a head-on car
metaphor for a tortured
relationship in paint drips
and speech bubbles.  a green
hillside gestural embroidery
a resolution for metaphorical
approach.  also

simple:  faceless intimacy at
desks of potted
plants, a hint of glamorous
medieval delirium.
